I am fortunate to be raised in multigenerational family. I find this fact extremely important because if this was not for my grandfather and great grandfather the seeds of creativity would have never been planted in my soul. It was the hours spend with them on creating childish drawings and listening to incredible, delightful and thrilling stories filled with magical creatures and “the unexplained” that made me sensitive and open to the possibility of existence of invisible. It was the moments spend on doll hand making that I shared with my grandmother that made me experience the indescribable feelings of joy and enthusiasm that I felt only seeing my ideas come to life in a material form. These precious feelings not only have been deeply rooted within my spirit, but also made me been creative in one way or another all my life. Yet, the necessity of expressing myself in the form of fine arts emerged within me three years ago.

My art is my lover, my life, my purpose. The inspiration for my projects comes from different sources. I am fascinated by the infinitive number of forms of life. I like to observe nature. Often something as simple as single tulip flower or a leaf targets my mind and transforms to new visual idea. I am captivated by the universe and its secrets. Images of micro worlds hidden to human eyes which revolve “the unseen” thru lenses of telescopes or microscopes convert in my mind to original ideas and show me unlimited possibilities of creations. I am mesmerized by “the untraceable”. I believe in unbelievable.

I make monotypes, graphite and charcoal drawings, and acrylic paintings. I also photograph and dream of doing ceramics. I am attracted by extreme scale and form changes. I am interested in the transformation of micro objects to macro images and macro objects to micro images. I worship playing with abstract forms hidden within other shapes and experimenting with layers of colors.

Since I like to work in variety of mediums, the way in which I approach a piece depends on the medium I choose. Often, even before I begin, general themes for projects travel in my mind between different mediums without any restraint. Then, I start a piece by tuning with the medium and allowing the creative spirit to work out a specific idea thru me. During the process I try to be open to the experimentation, unexpected effects, and occasionally even accidents. I work wholeheartedly and freely. I apply the least amount of control I am able to impose, as when I try to force anything, the process becomes a struggle. I know my work goes well when my being becomes filled with “the state of here and now”.

It is my hope that by focusing on portraying “the invisible”, my art will open the doors of inner and outer worlds to the viewers. I wish that my work will inspire them to look even deeper inside and farther away, so they become totally aware of the invisible greatness that resides within them and around them. I trust that by doing and sharing my art with others I share my vision of a world full of love, happiness and “the imperceptible”.
